Black and Blue
February 15, 2019 - March 11, 2019
Opening Reception: Friday, February 15, 2019 6pm - 11pm
In his second solo show with Lane Meyer Projects, Matt O’Neill presents new drawings and works on paper. Led by his inner dialectic drive, these works are open to interpretation. They represent a stream of consciousness, as O’Neill strays from preconceived planning and lets the pen “goes where his hand takes it"…”
Matt O’Neill was born in Chicago, IL in 1962. He has lived and worked in Denver, CO since 2985. His work is in the permanent collection of the Denver Art Museum and the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center. He was awarded a National Endowment of the Arts Individual Fellowship in 1990.
In her first solo show with Lane Meyer Projects, Meg Lipke presents large-scale interactive artworks and works on paper. Visitors will have the option of interacting with the works by hooking small appendage-like sculptures onto the individual works. The show will be in constant flux due to this interaction, leaving the exhibition different from when it started.
Meg Lipke was born in 1969 in Portland, Oregon and was raised in Burlington, Vermont and Cheshire, England. She received her MFA from Cornell University and has taught at The University of Northern Iowa, Cornell University, and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and has been reviewed in Art in America, the Village Voice, the New York Times and many online publications. She lives and works in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.
