Lane Meyer Project is proud to present Blue On You, a solo exhibition featuring artwork by Rick C Riggans.

After a messy divorce, my mother rented a little apartment in a bleak suburban neighborhood outside of Boston. I remember her transforming the space by painting the walls wild colors… salmon pink, orange mandarin, turquoise, navy blue or whatever other crazy color she could find in the mis-tint bin at the local hardware store. I particularly remember that she redid the horrible upstairs bathroom with square back tiles and neon green grout…..undoubtedly, another score of the close-out materials from the local hardware store, but the effects were crazy. These updates plus numerous others like her yellow couch, an orange shag carpet (“...to match our cat!” {the cat's name was “Cheddar”}) and a tropical-like plant collection dazzled my friends whenever they came over. I will cherish these memories forever.
